Too Cool for School

These are the COOL things we learned this week:

1. We learned about bullies with Mrs. Fawley.

2. We learned about fractions in math. Fractions have equal parts.

3. Mr. Grills talked to us about the E.S.S.L.

4.  We wrote persuasive paragraph about the weather in Maryland.

Awesome learning this week!

1.Students achieved Good Worker Awards.

2. In P.E we learned the Laws of Newton. We learned about gravity and friction.

3. In Mrs. Keller’s math class we are learning how to regroup.

4. In Ms. Grim’s math class we wrote our own riddle about a shape we made!

Second Grade News!

These are some things we learned today!

1. We learned about the phases of the moon. We even got to use a model.

2. For our warm up we wrote a sentence on a turkey feather about what we are thankful for.

3. We really enjoyed reading this morning!

4. We continued to practice for our upcoming plays!

5. We were so excited about our AWESOME performance last night at Carnival of the Animals. Thank you so much Mrs. Trax for all your time and help!!!!

 We also handed out perfect attendance for the month of October!!!

These are the Spooktacular things we learned this week:

1.We started to learn about plays. We learned that plays have scripts.

2. We learned a new game in P.E. It is called capture the football. It was a lot of FUN!!!!

3. We took our quarterly assessments in math.

4. We had our first Star of the Week.

5. We made a constellation viewer in science.

6. Mrs. Fawley taught us about being successful.

Today's Highlights

1. We learned about cause and effect while reading Strega Nona.

2. In phonics we learned about verbs. Verbs are things you do.

3.In math the students were learning about graphs ~ some were pictographs and some were bar graphs.

4. We continued to write our small moments.

5.In Library, Mrs. Reed taught the students there are 8 national symbols.

Mon Oct 8

Today

We have learned a lot of cool things over the past few weeks. Here a some things we would like to share:

1. All of our caterpillars changed into their chrysallis’s over the weekend. We have now put them into a butterfly tower. We can’t wait to watch them hatch.

2. We are talking about small moments in writing. A small moment is a tiny seed experience out of a watermelon day. The students shared some pretty good ideas on the rug that will make great small moments.

3. Last Friday, we had a continent day. We traveled in our school to every continent. We even had a passport to get stamped.

4. In science, we started to observe the sky. We even got to use binoculars.

Today

We have been doing a lot of learning the past few weeks of school. Here are 4 things that we did just today!

1. Ms. Daniels taught us that the United States is always going to be next to Mexico and Canada.

2.We Compared Urban and Suburb areas. We used a Compare and Contrast chart.

3. Mrs. Keller’s math class played a game outside to make 10.

4. We learned the story about Pete and his mother and open and closed syllables

Each day we will pack up our backpacks, get ready to go home, and then write on this page about what we did in Mrs. Keller’s class.

 Today we:

1.learned about apples and how they can be different colors

2.Cheyenne fell on the floor in math

3. Will thought the Friday letter would get mailed, but it didn’t.

4. students played Battleship with a calendar to practice ordinal numbers

5. Brendan wore orange crocs, which is weird because having a crocodile on your feet would be uncomfortable, especially orange crocodiles because crocodiles are green.
